This wonderful piece is an authentic Edwardian Suffragette ring, adorned with a 0.08ct Amethyst and Peridots, with four Diamonds nestled in between.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine women’s rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
Subtler than most Suffragette rings, the stones have been rub-over set into the 18ct Yellow Gold gallery. Complete with Birmingham, and 18ct hallmarks inside the shank.
A beautifully understated piece steeped in the history of the women’s rights movement.
